Dried Beef

This is a recipe that I woke up to almost every weekend as a child. This has always been one of my favorite breakfasts. My family now loves this as much as I do. This is super simple but so delicious and you will love it too.

My mom used to make this recipe. It was one of my weekend favorites growing up and sill is today.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ cups milk

  • 1 (8 oz) jar dried beef (chopped fine)

  • 1 loaf of bread

Directions

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat to medium heat, melt butter.
  • Whisk in flour all at once to form a roux. Whisk in milk, a little at a time, increase heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring, until thickened.
  • Chop your beef so you’re ready for the next step.
  • Bring to a boil, stir in beef, heat until warm and serve over toast.
