Ingredients

  • 1 box spice cake mix (your favorite)

  • 1 stick of salted butter

  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1 can of apple pie filling

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium size microwave safe bowl, melt the stick of butter.
  • Pour box cake mix and cinnamon into the bowl of butter and mix just until crumbly do not overmix.
  • Grease a oven safe casserole dish. I use a 9×13 because we like ours thinner and it makes more. You can use a smaller one if prefer. Then dump the apple pie filling into the bottom.
  • Top with the cake mixture.
  • Heat for 25-30 minutes. The top should be golden brown and the apples heated through.
  • We enjoy with ice cream and sometimes a drizzle of heated caramel. Enjoy!
